Biography

Owner Kitty Richmond has been dressing and looking after brides for over 20 years now. Our boutique is listed and was built by famous architect Robert S. Ingram in 1885, but it was completely renovated and refurbished in 2019, specifically with brides in mind. By appointment only, our brides-to-be have the full boutique to themselves to relax and enjoy the experience of bridal shopping with their family and friends, safe in the knowledge they are in the best hands.

We stock various designers’ collections including Demetrios, Modeca, Ladybird and GAIA Bridal. All our sample dresses were carefully hand-selected, from beautiful ball gowns to sleek and sophisticated more contemporary styles, to give you a wide selection to choose from. We also now introduced a range of flower girl dresses to compliment the collections we have in our boutique.

Having our own in-house alterations service ensures that our brides-to-be are catered to, from the start of the process all the way through to their big day. We also stock head pieces, veils and jewellery to add those finishing touches to your look. All you have to do is get in touch and make that first appointment.

I had been to three other shops before this one and what a difference it makes getting time to actually have a good look through the dresses and try on the ones that you want without feeling hurried. The shop itself is really impressive, but its Kitty's knowledge of dresses that really stands out, and nothing was too much trouble. The covid precautions were very subtle, but reassuringly in place, I had to drop one of our initial party for the appointment but my mother in law to be was very understanding and highly delighted to get the chance to come in later with me after I had picked out my dress. There was a brilliant selection to choose from and to be honest I found it difficult to choose between three, but I went with my instinct and I could see from the faces that I had made the right choice. My wedding dress, underskirt and lace jacket all needed alterations which Kathleen did a fabulous job with. You would never know that work had been done as the craftmanship is impeccable and now my dress is perfect for my special day. Kathleen also suggested using some of the wasted material from my dress to alter my belt as the ribbon on the belt was a different texture and a slightly different colour from my dress. Now it matches my wedding dress perfectly and doesn't look like an add on. My lace jacket also had a button missing which she matched and replaced for me at no extra cost. She is so considerate and makes you feel at ease about the whole process. I can assure you your dress is in the safest of hands with Kathleen and the team. They will even press it for you so you have no creases for your big day.
